Since ART Arena was incepted in 2003, we’ve been growing up from our voyage with Nehru Centre Culture wing to Commercial Theatre productions and now even to Commercial Feature Films. Following are just few highlights of our many completed projects.

PRODUCTIONS FOR ANUPAM KHER's ACTOR PREPARES

Artarena successfully managed the theatre productions for Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares, overseeing global tours across the US and Canada. This included the widely acclaimed solo performance "Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai" and the play "Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha". From technical execution to tour coordination, Artarena ensured seamless management, bringing Indian theatre to international audiences with professionalism and precision.

PRODUCTIONS FOR FEROZ ABBAS KHAN

The professional journey began with commercial theatre under the direction of Feroz Abbas Khan. Key productions included "Dinner with Friends" and "Salesman Ramlal", both known for their powerful narratives and critical acclaim. Artarena also managed a popular play production “Tumhari Amrita” and several other notable works, handling stagecraft management and production execution. These experiences laid a strong foundation in theatre, combining artistic depth with professional expertise.

LED WALL PROJECTIONS FOR HEMA MALINI MEGA BALLETS

Artarena has been instrumental in creating cyclorama visuals for all of Hema Malini’s grand ballet productions, including "Mahalaxmi", "Durga", "Radharaasbihari", "Meera", and "Ramayan". These visually rich backdrops play a vital role in bringing Indian mythological narratives to life on stage, seamlessly merging traditional storytelling with modern stage design. The cyclorama visuals serve as immersive backgrounds, enhancing the overall aesthetic and emotional impact of each performance.

PRODUCTIONS FOR MANTRA VISIONS PRIVATE LIMITED

We worked with Mantra Visions Private Limited on two distinct productions—a grand stage spectacle "Urvashi", adapted from Kalidasa’s Vikramorvasiyam, blending classical, contemporary, folk, ballet, and Kalaripayattu into a mythological musical with original songs and stunning visuals, offering a cinema-on-stage experience for global audiences; and the feature film "Miss You Mister", a heartfelt story of a young couple navigating the trials of a long-distance marriage, where Artarena served as Creative Consultant for Promotions and Advertising (P&A), enhancing the film’s audience outreach and campaign strategy.

PRODUCTIONS FOR LILETTE DUBEY'S PRIME TIME THEATRE COMPANY

Artarena has been associated with Lillete Dubey’s Primetime Theatre Company, rendering production and festival management services for several of their acclaimed plays. Known for balancing commercial success with socially and emotionally sensitive themes, the company’s notable productions include "Boiled Beans on Toast", "August: Osage County", "9 Parts of Desire", and "Aadhe Adhure" and many more. Lillete Dubey, a renowned actress and director, is celebrated for her powerful storytelling and dedication to meaningful theatre. The collaboration with Artarena reflects a shared passion for bringing impactful and engaging performances to the stage.

FOR MARATHI & HINDI THEATRE

Artarena has made notable contributions to Marathi theatre, particularly through its visual design work for acclaimed productions such as "Ranga Nava", a poetry narration show by Mukta Barve, and "Mee Nathuram Godse Boltoy". In Ranga Nava, Artarena’s visuals added depth and atmosphere to the poetic expressions, enhancing the overall narrative experience. For Mee Nathuram Godse Boltoy, the team crafted impactful visual elements that complemented the intense and thought-provoking themes of the play. These collaborations highlight Artarena’s creative engagement in regional theatre and its commitment to enriching storytelling through visual.

This includes esteemed artists such as Deepak Mazumdar, Keka Sinha, Rekha Chaudhary, Shanta Rati Mishra, Pavitra Bhat, Parimal Phadke, Aditi Bhagwat, Nrityanidhi, and many others. Who We Are

Committed to Excellence

Pallavi Gurjar, Founder-Director of Artarena, established the company in 2003 to offer professional, creative, and technical services and consultancy to the entertainment industry. A graduate in English Literature and Psychology, she completed her theatre training with the prestigious National School of Drama and has since consistently worked across theatre, events, and films at both creative and managerial levels.

With a career spanning over two decades, Pallavi has collaborated with some of the most respected names in the industry and has travelled extensively across India, as well as to Dubai, Singapore, and the USA for professional assignments. She has worked as an Assistant Director to Feroz Abbas Khan and managed prominent commercial drama productions for Anupam Kher, including Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai and Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha, as well as for Satish Kaushik and Lillete Dubey.

As a visual and graphic designer, Pallavi has designed spectacular visuals for Hema Malini’s mega ballet productions such as Mahalaxmi, Durga, Yashoda Krishna, Radha-Raasbihari, Ramayan, and Urvashi, contributing to the grandeur and emotional depth of these mythological performances. Her design contributions extend to productions by Mantra Vision, Rekha Chaudhary, Shoma Kaikini, Vidya Shriram, Rachana Sarang, Sheila Mehta, Sandeep Soparkar, and multiple productions at the Nehru Centre.

She served as the Course In-Charge for Nehru Centre’s diploma course Natyadisha for three years and is regularly invited by leading institutions to present Audio-Visual demo series on diverse aspects of theatre. Her dedication to nurturing young talent is reflected in her regular theatre workshops and children’s productions, supported by NSD’s Children’s Theatre Wing and the Times Foundation.

Pallavi continues to actively design and manage promotional events, concerts, and cultural festivals, working closely with both classical and contemporary artists. As a producer, she recently helmed the film Match Fixing: The Nation at Stake, a bold and thought-provoking socio-political thriller.

Recipient of the Mid-Day Powerful Women Icon Award, Pallavi Gurjar is now looking forward to spearheading revolutionary changes that merge Indian art with modern technology to engage global audiences and create a dynamic space where tradition meets innovation.
